A man wanted in connection with a weekend shooting in The Pas has been taken into custody.
On December 15, The Pas RCMP were called to a shooting at an apartment complex on Cathedral Avenue, where they found a
42-year-old man in a stairwell with a gunshot wound to his lower body, and he was later airlifted to hospital in Winnipeg, in critical but stable condition.
Witnesses reported two men fleeing the scene, and a warrant was issued for 26-year-old Darcy Campbell of the Mosakahiken Cree Nation, on charges of Aggravated Assault and numerous firearm-related offences.
Mounties were notified that Campbell was spotted re-entering the same apartment building early Thursday morning, and after the complex was secured, Campbell was arrested without incident.
