In a world where distractions are just a click away, it’s becoming increasingly rare to find moments of genuine connection. A recent survey revealed some intriguing dinner-time habits: 41 percent of people chat with those they’re dining with, while a surprising 63 percent are glued to the television. Meanwhile, 28 percent are scrolling through their phones, 16 percent are tuned into music or podcasts, 8 percent are absorbed in a book, and 6 percent are diving into video games.
In our household, we use dinner time as a golden opportunity for conversation. It’s one of the few moments in our busy day where we can come together and share what’s happening in our lives. We make it a point to put away our devices, focusing instead on each other’s stories and experiences.
