The City of Yorkton will proceed with purchasing two new tandem-axle gravel trucks after Council unanimously approved one of four submitted bids at its regular meeting on Monday.
The purchase was included in the city’s approved 2025 capital budget, according to Director of Engineering and Asset Management René Richard. The new trucks will replace two older units.
After reviewing four bids, the City selected Frontline Freightliner Truck Centre Limited, whose proposal of just over $527,000 was deemed the best value and remained within the budget estimate of $550,000.
Funding for the purchase will come from the Fleet Reserve, as approved during budget deliberations. The existing trucks will either be traded in or sold, depending on which option offers the best return for the City.
