Manitoba is reminding drivers to obey road closures and to not attempt to drive through flooded areas.
Unprecedented rains have caused overland flooding, multiple road closures and damaged bridges in the western part of the province.
Rain combined with melting snow has washed out roads in Duck Mountain Provincial Park and Highway 10 north and south of Mafeking.
The Hydrologic Forecast Centre issued an overland flood warning for the Parkland Region as recent precipitation and snowmelt in the west have resulted in significant run-off that is overwhelming creeks, rivers and drains.
Downstream communities and infrastructure may be affected before all the water reaches Dauphin Lake or Lake Winnipegosis.
In a news release, the province says the level of Dauphin Lake is forecast to exceed flood stage in the next two days and remain above flood stage until the end of June with normal weather conditions. The peak level is forecast at 858.4 feet.
Property owners in western Manitoba are advised to remain vigilant and take any necessary precautions.
A flood warning continues for the Winnipeg River and Whiteshell areas.
