A Cote Man Charged In The Death Of A Toddler Made Another Court Appearance

A Cote First Nation man charged with Second Degree Murder in the death of a toddler, has appeared in court again. 24-year-old Waylon Severight was in Yorkton yesterday (Thu), where he was committed to stand trial in Yorkton Court of King’s Bench at a later date. RCMP say the accused was known to the victim, 21-month-old Lorenzo Cote. In November of 2020, emergency crews were called to a Canora residence on a report of a one-year-old boy needing urgent medical care, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
