Officials with the University of Regina have been monitoring wastewater from the City of Yorkton for the Omicron variant of COVID 19.
A spokesman at the University says they’ve been doing so since January, and were approached by the city for the monitoring.
Data is then handed to the Saskatchewan Health Authority to be added to their report. The latest data shows levels of the variant are moderately high, but not at levels seen earlier this year.
Moose Jaw and Swift Current are also being monitored.
