Dauphin RCMP continue to investigate a fatal two-vehicle crash near Gilbert Plains. Mounties say it happened Monday morning, on Highway 5, just west of Gilbert Plains, where an eastbound vehicle crossed the centre line, and collided with a westbound semi-unit. The 53-year-old Dauphin man driving the semi escaped injury, however, the lone occupant of the other vehicle, a 72-year-old woman from the R.M. of Grandview, whose name has not been released, died at the scene. Icy road conditions are believed to be a factor in the crash.
