Highway 9 between the Bear Claw Casino and Hotel and the entrance to Kenosee Lake, re-opened to traffic this morning (Mon).
The road had been closed since last night (Sun) when Carlyle RCMP investigated a fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision on the White Bear First Nation.
RCMP say the 26-year-old driver, and lone occupant, of a southbound truck allegedly struck a 52-year-old man who was walking in the southbound lane of the highway.
The driver stopped, and attempted life-saving efforts until emergency responders arrived, however, the pedestrian was declared deceased by EMS.
Alcohol or drugs are not being considered as factors at this time, but the collision remains under investigation.
