Saskatchewan residents who were infected by COVID-19 will no longer have to wait 90 days before receiving the vaccine.
According to the Saskatchewan Health Authority, the mandatory three-month waiting period has been lifted, so long as the individual has fully recovered and is no longer infectious.
Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Saqib Shahab noted that the waiting period was originally put in place due to the low supply of vaccine in the province.
Dr. Shahab adds that after someone has had COVID-19, it is highly unlikely that they will become infected again within 90 days.
