There was an increase in voter turnout at the advance polls in Saskatchewan by just over 20 per cent.
Elections Canada spokesperson, Marie-France Kenny, says over 182,000 Saskatchewan residents voted.
She has observed that the number of people who vote at advance polls trends higher with each election.
Across Canada, there was an increase of a little over a million from the 2019 election, with an estimated 5.8-million people voting last Friday through Monday.
The estimates are 12,048 votes in the last election at the advance polls and this year, there were 10,959.
There may have been lineups at times across the country, which Kenny believes may have been because of the pandemic.
Election workers were disinfecting, making sure everyone was physically distanced and there was only one poll worker at a table instead of two.
Elections Canada is still looking for poll workers in Yorkton, with paid training this week.
You can apply through the Elections Canada website or calling the the Yorkton Elections Canada office at 780-630-2499 or toll free at 866-354-7155.
***This story has been corrected to mention there were over 182-thousand Saskatchewan residents who voted in the advance polls, not the 31-thousand as previously reported
