Saskatchewan set another single-day high of new COVID-19 cases on Sunday with 543, surpassing the previous high of 506 set on September 14.
Sunday’s new cases bring the provincial total to 62,101.
The new cases are located in the Far North West (26), Far North East (15), North West (64), North Central (70), North East (48), Saskatoon (149), Central West (8), Central East (28), Regina (47), South West (24), South Central (19) and South East (26) zones and 19 new cases have pending residence information.
Thirty (30) cases with pending residence information were reassigned to the Far North West (from September 13 (1), September 15 (1)), Far North East (from September 12 (2), September 17 (5)), North West (from September 14 (1)), North Central (from September 15 (1), September 16 (4), September 17 (1)), North East (from September 14 (2), September 16 (1), September 17 (5)), Saskatoon (from September 17 (1)), Central East (from September 17 (1)), and Regina (from September 16 (3), September 17 (1)) zones.

Active cases province-wide are now at 4,586, including 199 in the Central East region.
As of Sunday, a total of 249 people are in hospital – 194 in inpatient care and 55 in ICU – and of those hospitalizations, 190 were not fully vaccinated. An additional 285 recoveries were recorded, bringing the provincial total to 56,876.
One death due to COVID-19 was from the South West region, bringing the provincial total to 639.

There were 3,911 COVID-19 tests done in Saskatchewan, upping the total to 1,090,734.
Of the 4,522 new doses reported on the dashboard, 2,649 were first doses and 1,873 were second doses, increasing the total number of vaccine doses administered to 1,520,086.
The seven day average of daily new cases went up by 18 to 484 (or 40.2 new cases per 100,000).
