The old Ramada Hotel, also known as the Holiday Inn, on Broadway Street East in Yorkton, is being demolished.
A review found, among other factors, the building was in a seriously neglected state and needed significant repairs, but after no one jumped on the Public Tender for Sale, a demolition tender was then released and eventually awarded to Silverado Demolition Incorporated.
Work on the building started this afternoon (Wed).
The demolition will cost the city 469-thousand dollars.
Once the building is gone and the lot is cleaned up, the City will put it up for sale.
