The CEO of USask’s Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization says results to date for the clinical trials of its COVID-19 vaccine to be very encouraging. Dr. Volker Gerdts says the interim results of the trial in Halifax show immune responses very comparable to other already approved vaccines, and is also effective against the Delta variant. He adds it’s easy to handle, transport and store, and doesn’t need to be refrigerated to minus 80 degrees.
