CN Rail says there is a significant shut-down to west coast grain movement.
CN Rail says the line to the port of Prince Rupert has been shut-down by an anti-pipeline protest, which began 5 days ago.
Sources indicate west coast grain movement has been cut by 30 percent.
The executive director of the Western Grain Elevator Association, Wade Sobkowich, is disappointed, saying the disruption comes at a bad time because of other issues like rockslides and colder weather and a busy grain movement schedule.
APAS president Todd Lewis says farmers can’t afford more grain movement delays and he is hoping the federal or B.C. governments will deal with it.
CN Rail says it has obtained court injunctions to end the blockades and is working with local enforcement agencies to enforce the orders.
