The second of of two people charged after an incident just north of Regina last month, involving a stolen vehicle, made her first court appearance yesterday (MON).
On September 6th, police used a spike belt to stop the vehicle on Highway 6, but the two occupants – a man and a woman – refused to exit, leading to a two-hour standoff, before they finally surrendered.
The man started showing signs of a drug overdose, and was taken to hospital where he tried to escape.
Last month, 45-year-old Joseph Cyr, of Punnichy entered a guilty plea on the three charges against him, receiving time served, and one year of probation.
His co-accused, 40-year-old Kelly Twist, of the Gordon First Nation, will return to Regina Provincial Court on November 9th.
