Saskatchewan will provide 100 per cent coverage of the abortion pill mifegymiso.
Mifegymiso has been on the Saskatchewan Formulary and available by prescription since 2017, but never fully covered until now.
The cost of the pill varied, depending on a person’s drug coverage and eligibility through benefit programs.
The Manitoba government announced last week it would offer universal access to the pill.
This was one of the topics debated in the Saskatchewan Legislature, with NDP leader Ryan Meili accusing the SaskParty government of pandering to pro-life groups by slow-walking approval of the abortion pill.
