For the first time since 2003, the Northerm Manitoba Blizzard are Manitoba Junior Hockey League champions.
Quincy Supprien notched the game winner, 14:03 into triple overtime as the Northern Manitoba Blizzard doubled the Dauphin Kings on Thursday night, 2-1, in game seven of the Turnbull Cup final.
Alexander Andre opened the scoring for the Blizzard late in the first before the Kings tied it at 1-1 on a marker by Declan Hoad in the late stages of the second frame.
Both goaltenders were terrific as Taye Timmerman made 55 saves on 56 shots in the Blizzard net to get the win, while Kings netminder Cole Sheffield stopped 26 shots in the loss.
