Melville is embracing a fresh, modern look as City Council has officially approved a new logo and rebranding strategy aimed at revitalizing the city’s visual identity.
The redesigned logo reflects a contemporary style while paying tribute to Melville’s heritage—highlighting the city’s deep connections to the railway and agriculture, particularly wheat.
The rebranding will be implemented in three phases. Phase one will begin with a formal announcement and launch event, along with updates to the city’s website and social media platforms.
Phase two will focus on updating printed materials and replacing both internal and external signage throughout the city. The final phase will see the new branding incorporated into larger infrastructure projects and capital upgrades.
Mayor Joe Kirwan emphasized that the rebranding will be cost-effective, as much of the work will be completed in-house. “By rolling it out in phases, we’re keeping costs minimal,” Kirwan said, noting that the most significant expense will be the re-decaling of city vehicles.
Also, Melville and area residents are now able to make a splash and beat the heat in the city’s outdoor pool which has officially opened for the 2025 season.
Director of Community Services Chris Bruce says they’re happy to have a great facility like the pool for residents and visitors to take advantage of.
Originally upgraded in 2020–21, the facility boasts a range of family-friendly features, including a beach-style zero-depth entry, a toddler area, spray features, a toddler slide, a three-loop waterslide, and a six-lane swimming area suitable for both recreational and lap swimming
