Last night was the perfect wrap-up to the Yorkton Exhibition Summer Fair, and honestly, I’m still buzzing! The weather couldn’t have been better. Not too hot, not too cold, with just enough cloud cover to keep everyone comfy. Even the bugs seemed to take a break, which was a bonus!
I got to hang out at the Legacy Co-op Grandstand and introduce the tribute acts for the evening: Chicken Fried (a Zac Brown Band tribute) and Mountain Music (an Alabama tribute). I didn’t realize it was the same group of musicians doing both shows until they hit the stage! Talk about talent. They absolutely crushed both sets, sounding just like the real deal and bringing so much energy to the crowd.
Chicken Fried is absolutely rocking it at the @Yorkton_Ex Summer Fair! Totally sounds like Zac Brown Band. Mind blown! -Oliviahttps://t.co/g2W59VxtDO pic.twitter.com/33fgRcNG4E

The lead singer, Elton, kept us all entertained in between songs with his hilarious quips and jokes. He really knew how to work the crowd and keep the good vibes going all night long. And the coolest part? The band dedicated a song to me! My all-time favourite Alabama song, “I’m In A Hurry (And Don’t Know Why).” I’d never had a song dedicated to me, but I really enjoyed it!
All in all, it was such a fun night, full of great music, lots of laughs, and awesome people. I have to give a big thank you to Evan, though. Thanks for having family pictures scheduled for Saturday night and needing me to fill in for you, man. I actually had a lot of fun!
If you missed it this year, make sure to check it out next summer. I already can’t wait for the Yorkton Exhibition Summer Fair to roll around again!
