The City of Melville is looking to expand its boundaries.
In a public notice issued under The Municipalities Act, the city has proposed the annexation of several parcels of land and adjoining roadways from the Rural Municipality of Cana.
The lands in question are located in Townships 22 and 23, Range 6, and include sections of Range Road 2062, Range Road 2063, Township Road 230, and Township Road 231.
City officials say the move is designed to ensure the sustainable delivery of services, accommodate future growth, and bring key infrastructure into city limits. Those facilities include the new landfill, the recently expanded wastewater treatment facility, and the municipal airport.
A public meeting on the proposal will take place on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. in Melville City Council Chambers.
Residents wishing to object must submit a written objection, clearly stating their reasons, to the City Manager by 4:00 p.m. on October 29, 2025. Submissions can be emailed to jtuchscherer@melville.ca.
The full proposal is available for review at www.melville.ca.
