YORKTON – Nothing beats time spent with Grandma and Grandpa, so taking Grandparents Day at the Western Development Museum Yorkton Sunday was a good option.
On Sept 7, it was an opportunity to enjoy tasty snacks, create fun crafts with the grand kids, and set off on a museum quest to explore the exhibits and make special memories.
That was just what Jason and Sharon Morris of Bangor, Sask. did with grandchildren Elle and Annika Schwartz and Sophia Balazsi.
The museum visit included checking out a Metis beaded saddle and blanket display which was donated to the WDM in 1986 by Sharon’s grandfather Jim Harris.
While the creator of the items is unknown it is estimated to have originated around 1900 in the Crescent Lake area.
