YORKTON – Ten community projects across eastern Saskatchewan will share $150,000 through Cornerstone Credit Union’s Project Cornerstone program.
The 2025 recipients include a mix of recreational, accessibility and health-related projects designed to strengthen community infrastructure and improve quality of life.
The 2025 recipients are:
- Grenfell Curling Club – $10,000 for upgrading ice-making equipment.
- Jedburgh Rec Board – $12,500 to replace the rink’s entrance and off-season storage area.
- Kelliher Rec Centre – $40,000 for rink repairs, including concrete wall blocks, insulation and exterior tin.
- Kinette Club of Tisdale – $10,000 to help revitalize the public playground at Kinsmen McKay Park.
- Kipling Friendship Club and Kipling Kidcare – $5,000 each for facility repairs and accessibility improvements, including ramps.
- The Health Foundation of East Central Saskatchewan – $25,000 for a playground at a childcare facility in Yorkton used by healthcare workers.
- Wheels for Wellness (Indian Head) – $10,000 toward a shuttle van to provides residents with transportation to medical appointments.
- Wynyard CARRES – $12,500 for a new outdoor community space.
- Yorkton United Football Club – $20,000 for clubhouse improvements and lighting upgrades.
Since its launch in 2006, Project Cornerstone has supported 50 initiatives across the region.
To mark this year’s milestone, Cornerstone boosted its investment by $50,000, bringing the total funding to $150,000.
“This is a milestone year for Project Cornerstone and we’re delighted to make an impact in these communities,” said Doug Jones, CEO of Cornerstone Credit Union. “Facilities and programs like these are vital to community growth and sustainability and for the people who live, work and play in eastern Saskatchewan.”
The funding is focused on building, expanding and upgrading facilities that contribute to local development and community well-being.
