KAMSACK — Kamsack district residents are being asked to hold on to their Halloween costumes for one extra day so that they can be used when attending a Halloween dance on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Natalie Rauckman and Courtney Maitland of Kamsack have decided to organize the dance to be held at the Ukrainian Catholic Hall from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.
All profits generated at the function will be donated back to the community, Maitland explained, adding that if this dance is successful, she and Rauckman plan to make the dance an annual event.
“We heavily encourage people to wear costumes,” she said. It will add to the atmosphere because the hall will be decorated as well.
“We want to make it spooky,” Rauckman said.
To help the dance succeed, Ace Real Estate and Insurance has donated a JBL Bluetooth speaker and donations have already been received from McMunn and Yates, who are providing decorations, and the Iron Grill Restaurant, which is providing a discount rate for the event’s midnight lunch.
“We’re open to receiving more donations,” Maitland said.
Restricted to persons aged 19 years and up, the dance will be providing drink tickets for $5 each and will feature a 50/50 lottery draw. Admission costs $20 at the door or may be purchased at Ace Real Estate and Insurance.
“If this is a success, we want to continue providing money back to the community,” Maitland said.
