It’s officially spooky season, which means I’m all in for taking in some witches, magic, and a little bit of mischief on my TV. Since I’m still catching up on my ever-growing list of Marvel movies and shows, I decided now was the perfect time to give Agatha All Along a watch, and let me tell you, it’s exactly the vibe I was hoping for!
It’s been a while since we last saw Agatha Harkness, the scene-stealing witch from WandaVision (which I still believe is one of the best Marvel TV shows ever). What I loved so much about Agatha in WandaVision was how she opened the door to a whole different kind of magic in the MCU. Her brand of spells and witchcraft felt different, darker, and a lot more mysterious than what we’ve seen from Doctor Strange and his sorcerers.
Fast forward three years after WandaVision, and Agatha’s basically a prisoner. She’s stuck in her own TV show delusion, completely powerless and totally clueless about what’s happening…until a random teen with magical abilities manages to break the spell she’s under. If you think Agatha’s going to turn over a new leaf, think again! She wasn’t the good guy in WandaVision, and she’s not going to be the good guy of her own show either. Which makes things even more interesting, since she’s got a lot of people after her, and this time, she doesn’t have her powers to defend herself.
So, what does a witch do when she’s down on her luck? She assembles a ragtag group of outcast witches and sets out on a quest to the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical path that promises to grant any witch who survives its trials whatever their heart desires, and Agatha is the only one who’s made it through before. The coven’s journey is anything but smooth, but it’s made all the more entertaining by the stellar cast, including familiar faces like Aubrey Plaza, Sasheer Zamata (from Saturday Night Live) and the iconic Patti LuPone.
What I love most about Agatha All Along is how it lets you both root for and despise Agatha at the same time. Kathryn Hahn is absolutely phenomenal in the role! No one else could bring this character to life quite like she does. She’s funny, devious, vulnerable, and completely magnetic on screen.
If you’re looking for something with spooky vibes, magical chaos, and a story that’s both fun and easy to follow (even if you’re not a hardcore Marvel fan), Agatha All Along is a must-watch this season. So grab your favorite fall snacks, cozy up under a blanket, and get ready to root for, and maybe against, Marvel’s most mischievous witch.
You can stream Agatha All-Along on Disney+
