Yorkton Terriers defenceman Thomas Ries has been named the Canterra Seeds Saskatchewan Player of the Week after a strong stretch of games that helped his team to key wins over Melfort and Flin Flon.
The Humboldt native picked up a goal and three assists while showcasing the speed, strength, and defensive reliability that have made him a leader on the Terriers’ roster.
Elsewhere around the league, Estevan’s Ewan Rennie was named SGEU MVP of the Week after posting six goals and eight points in three games, while Bruins rookie Brady Carr earned SaskMilk Rookie of the Week honours with a 28-save performance against Nipawin.
The Kindersley Klippers also made headlines, with Avery Johnson earning Forward of the Week and Russ Demo named Defenceman of the Week, while Weyburn Red Wings netminder & Yorkton product Preston Patenaude claimed SaskTel Goalie of the Week after backstopping two wins with a .944 save percentage.
