SASKATOON — The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon is on the air.
The annual telethone is broadcasting province-wide on Nov. 5 and 6. Over the next two days, listeners from across Saskatchewan will hear stories from children, families and medical professionals at JPCH from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily across 33 radio stations.
This year’s James Bond-themed Radiothon will support essential pediatric otology and otolaryngology programs and equipment. Contributions will not only enhance clinical capabilities but will also provide hope and improve the quality of life for countless children facing health challenges, according to a press release from the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.
Funds raised with Project OO: Licence to Heal will strengthen Saskatchewan’s Cochlear Implant Program, replace outdated sound booths and provide innovative technology for JPCH medical teams. Increasing access to advanced hearing health starts with ensuring JPCH has world-class medical professionals. Providing professional development opportunities to attract and retain specialized professionals, including otolaryngologists, otologists, audiologists, speech-language pathologists and social workers, who are vital to a child’s communication development and overall well-being.
Dedicated supporters, the David and Karen Holst Family Foundation, are matching Radiothon donations up to $200,000.
"Our family deeply believes that every child deserves the best possible health care close to home,” say David and Karen Holst.
“This cause resonates strongly with us, especially when it comes to hearing health. Ensuring all Saskatchewan children have the support they need to grow, learn, and thrive isn't just a responsibility, it's a commitment to their future. Every donation to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon makes a difference, and we are proud to match every donation, up to $200,000. Let’s unite as a community and make a profound difference for our province’s children together.”
“Every child deserves the chance to hear, to speak, and to connect with the world around them,” says Troy Davies, CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation.
“Project OO: Licence to Heal is about giving that gift of connection, through sound, communication and care, to children across Saskatchewan.
“This Radiothon unites our province in one powerful mission: ensuring that every child, no matter where they live, can receive specialized care and the latest technology right here at home.”
