SASKATOON — The 23rd annual Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon raised more than $1.1 million to support programs that help Saskatchewan kids hear, heal and thrive.
The event, presented by CIBC Wood Gundy, wrapped up Nov. 6 after two days of broadcasting across 33 radio stations throughout the province. This year’s Radiothon brought in a total of $1,119,195, which will go toward improving otology and otolaryngology programs and purchasing specialized equipment at Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital.
Troy Davies, CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation, said the results reflect Saskatchewan’s generosity.
“The past two days of Radiothon have been filled with incredible moments and generous support,” Davies said. “Your contributions will strengthen pediatric hearing health programs and provide world-class equipment for Saskatchewan’s Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital.”
Among the major donations were $50,000 from the Saskatchewan Elks and Royal Purple Fund for Children to help fund new sound booths at the hospital, $25,000 from Capital Automotive Group, and $10,000 from the Dakota Dunes Community Development Corporation.
Davies expressed gratitude to donors, medical professionals and families who shared their stories, calling their contributions “a meaningful difference for our youngest patients.”
CIBC Wood Gundy’s District Branch Manager Sean Tyson said the company is proud to support the initiative.
“Our team firmly believes in contributing to the health and well-being of Saskatchewan children,” Tyson said. “Every contribution has the power to transform lives and send ripples of positive change throughout our communities.”
The foundation also thanked its sponsors and media partners, including the David and Karen Holst Family Foundation, Saskatchewan Blue Cross, and numerous Saskatchewan-based businesses and organizations.
Funds raised will enhance pediatric hearing health programs and continue to advance maternal and child health care across the province.
