Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) not only welcomes visitors from around the province and Canada, but from countries around the world.
CEO of Agribition Shaun Kindopp returned from a business trip to Mexico, where he was looking to bring more cattle producers up to Regina to check out the event.
Kindopp said they usually head down in March but decided to go to Guadalajara, Mexico again last month, where they met with the Union Ganadera Regional de Jalisco – or Regional Cattlemen's Union of Jalisco when translated to English – an organizational equivalent of the Saskatchewan Cattle Association.
"We had a great conversation with their president and their executive team, just talking about all things Agribition, talking about the livestock economic development that can be done here in Regina and just really showcasing Agribition and the benefits and just how much really getting over across how much business gets done, at Agribition and inviting them back up." he said.
While in Mexico, he also saw cattle that had Canadian genetics, something Kindopp believes should be a source of pride for Canadian cattle producers.
"We got a chance to do a couple of ranch tours. And again, a lot of their livestock down there have Canadian genetics and to see what they're doing with our genetics from here is, it's unbelievable and I think it's something that our producers should be incredibly proud of."
Kindopp is expecting over 40 people from Mexico to attend this year's Agribition at REAL District.
Over the years, delegates from Australia and Sweden, among others, have attended Agribition. Kindopp says they're part of a growing network of relationships they've made over the years.
"It's a lot of relationships are built face-to-face, so a lot of the travel we're doing is definitely paying off. We're seeing our delegation numbers rise. We're seeing the amount of people coming back to Agribition rising, as well as the investment back in to the producers of our show. So, again, something that we take incredibly serious." Kindopp said.
Canadian Western Agribition from REAL District in Regina is November 24-29.
