It was back into familiar territory for the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who held their first formal practice of Grey Cup week yesterday at Princess Auto Stadium. The West Division Champions have a special chemistry, which defensive back Tevaughn Campbell says has allowed them to succeed.
“I think it's confidence. I think they really started on day one of camp; we came into the building and knew what we wanted. I think you could say that about every team. Every team came into the building, said we're going to the Grey Cup, yada yada yada. But I mean, we just got a bunch of dogs on the team who don't just have that bark, they have that bite. You could see it all come together from day one, from the first game until the last, and you know it's just something that made this Grey Cup team a Grey Cup team.
Tonight, the CFL will hand out its player awards, with Jermarcus Hardrick up for the top offensive lineman of the year, while Corey Mace is a coach of the year finalist.
The Riders will take on Montreal in the 112th Grey Cup, a game that you can hear across the 620 CKRM Cooperators Rider Broadcast Network.
