SASKATOON — Terrance Pelltier is the newest Lightning Lotto winner in the province.
The Cowessess winner struck big — winning a $131,747.20 jackpot on the Oct. 25 draw.
“I didn’t even know what I had won [at first],” admitted Pelltier. “I know the wins come up instantly but I didn’t even notice the amount I had won until I scanned it later.”
Pelltier said he’s focused on how he’ll spend those winnings.
“The one thing is, I’ve tried to be rational about it,” he explained. “I want to save for retirement and finish some renovations on my house.”
“I told my granddaughter we’re not going to Vegas or anything,” he added, laughing. “My granddaughter was with me when I found out, and she was pretty darn happy about it.”
Pelltier said the biggest feeling that came with winning this shocking jackpot was the relief.
“I feel relieved to pay off bills and have a little breathing room,” he said. “[This win] makes it easier for sure — I get to enjoy life more than I already do.”
Pelltier bought his winning Lightning Lotto ticket from Co-op at 1592-9 Ave. NW in Moose Jaw.
