The Yorkton Terriers picked up their second straight win Tuesday night, rolling to a 5–1 victory over the Estevan Bruins in a Bunge Division matchup.
After a scoreless opening frame, the Bruins struck first just 1:45 into the second when Lochlan Teteranko walked in and beat Callum Creig for his third of the season. But Yorkton answered quickly while shorthanded, as captain Tylan Henrikson forced a turnover and set up Evan Auld, who slipped home his third to tie the game 1–1.
The Terriers grabbed their first lead late in the period when Mikale Budz made a slick back pass behind the net to a wide-open Jye Zawatsky, who buried his 12th to put Yorkton up 2–1 after two.
In the third, William Leonard extended the lead to 3–1 with his team-leading 15th, and the Terriers sealed the win with late goals from Aidan Vallance into an empty net and Zawatsky’s second of the night.
Creig stopped 27 of 28 shots for his seventh win of the year. Estevan’s Nathan Kam turned aside 37 in the loss.
The Terriers now get a few days off before hosting the Warman Wolverines for their first-ever visit to Yorkton on Sunday afternoon at 3:00.
