PREECEVILLE — The Lutheran Association of Missionaries and Pilots (LAMP) exists to reach out to children and communities in northern Canada. Being so isolated, many of these communities do not have churches, much less regular Christian leadership, education of access to simple things as a pair of mittens.
The St. John Lutheran Church congregation in Preeceville stepped up once again and knitted or crocheted many mittens, toques, and scarves to help fill the need for warmer articles of clothing for those isolated in the Northern regions. “Congregation members have been involved in this program for over 60 years, and it gives its members a sense of warmth and Christian goodness to be able to aid and give back to those in need,” said Therese Sandager, organizer.
