Gabriel Courchesne notched his first SJHL hat trick as the Yorkton Terriers dominated the La Ronge Ice Wolves 8-2 on Sunday. Courchesne’s eight-point weekend moved him into sole possession of second in league scoring, behind only Estevan’s Ewan Rennie. His line, alongside William Leonard and Jye Zawatsky, combined for 11 points in the win.
Newly acquired defenceman Gavin Bartha scored his first career SJHL goal, while Tyler Palin added a goal and two assists. Thomas Ries and Cash Lanigan also found the back of the net.
Alexandro Montoya made 18 saves to secure the victory, while Brock Inglis and William Knox scored for the Ice Wolves.
The win lifted Yorkton into fifth place, one point ahead of Estevan, with a game in hand.
