I can’t wait for the Winter Games to begin. There’s just something special about that time when the world comes together, and we get to cheer on Team Canada. Being Canadian, hockey will always have a special place in my heart. Watching both the men’s and women’s teams compete on the international stage never gets old. The passion, the intensity, and the pride make every game must-watch TV.
That said, hockey isn’t the only reason I’m glued to the screen. Over the years, I’ve really grown to love so many of the winter sports. Events like luge, skeleton, and bobsleigh are incredible to watch. The speed, the precision, and the courage it takes to fly down an icy track at those speeds is unbelievable. It’s hard not to be in awe of the athletes who do it.
Honestly, I don’t think there’s a single event I don’t enjoy during the Winter Games. Whether it’s skiing, skating, curling, or something I don’t normally watch outside of this time, I always end up getting pulled in. That’s the beauty of it — discovering new favourites and appreciating the dedication behind every sport.
The time difference won’t be too bad either. With events only seven hours ahead of us, I should be able to catch most of the action. I’m usually up before 4 a.m. anyway, so early mornings just mean more live events to watch with an energy drink in hand.
Let the games begin. I’m ready to cheer loud and proud. Go Canada Go!
