Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew was among the dignitaries on hand for official opening of the new cultural arts centre at the Swan Valley Regional Secondary School in Swan River.
Early Childhood Learning Minister Tracy Schmidt was also in attendance Jan. 24 for the opening of the $16.6 million facility, which features a 42-hundred-square-foot auditorium with a raised stage, a 21-hundred square-foot multi-purpose room, and the outdoor teaching area next to the cultural arts centre.
The new space will be home to numerous educational and cultural activities, ranging from Ukrainian dancing and band concerts to square dancing and art exhibits
As well, the arts centre will also be available for use by community groups, such as the Wuskwi Sipihk First Nation, 4-H, and the Swan River School of Dance.
