Who else is absolutely loving the weather that February has brought us so far? I still can’t quite believe it — the calendar flips to February and boom… way better weather almost instantly. It feels like winter decided to ease up on us, at least for a bit.
Yesterday alone, the snow melted a ton. Sure, there’s still plenty around (this is the Prairies after all), but the difference was noticeable. In some spots, snowbanks shrank right before our eyes. Even more impressive, parts of the Prairies saw temperatures climb into the teens. In February! That’s something we don’t take for granted around here.
Another bonus? February may be a short month, but it packs a big punch when it comes to daylight. Depending on where you are in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, we gain anywhere from 60 to 75 minutes of daylight this month. I’m already noticing it, especially in the evenings. That extra light just lifts your mood a little.
Here’s hoping this stretch of beautiful weather sticks around for a while. I hope you have a great weekend and get the chance to soak up the sunshine, enjoy the longer days, and maybe even get outside a bit. February is off to a pretty nice start
