CANORA – The Canora Composite School Senior Mixed Curling Team enjoyed a successful weekend in Yorkton on Feb. 6-7, winning silver medals at districts.
Team members are: Jordan Zbitniff, Owen Ostafie, Merrick Derkatch and Paisley Wolkowski.
Coaches for the team are Craig Ostafie and John Zbitniff. Wolkowski was unfortunately ill on Day 2, but the team pressed on with three players and continued their success.
In a post at the Canora Curling Club Facebook Page, Kellyanne Ostafie, Owen’s mom, said, “So proud of this team! This weekend, the Canora Composite Senior Mixed Curling Team brought home silver at districts, officially securing their spot at regionals at the end of the month!
"What an incredible accomplishment – way to work hard, stay focused, and earn it. Regionals, here we come!”
Regionals will take place in Oxbow, scheduled for Feb. 27-28.
