NORQUAY — The Norquay Co-op recently opened a café portion on Jan. 5 that has been a hit with locals.
“We’re excited to welcome everyone to this new space,” said Norquay Co-op General Manager Darin Janzen
Janzen explained that hot food items have always been popular at the Norquay Co-op store.
“Over time, many members asked about bringing co-op's well-known chicken to Norquay [but] with limited space at the gas bar, expanding the menu wasn’t possible,” said Janzen.
This changed in spring 2025 when Petroleum Manager Wendi Reine purchased a small commercial building that had previously operated as a cafe.
This created the opportunity to launch a dedicated fast food and takeout location in Norquay.
Since they have only been open for just over a month, the café welcomes feedback and ideas, especially around menu preferences, as it continues to develop.
“Norquay Co-op is proud to support the town of Norquay and the surrounding areas,” said Janzen.
“Every local business contributes to the strength of the region by creating jobs and offering new services,” continued Janzen. “The café is another way the co-op invests locally while creating more opportunities and experiences for everyone in the area.”
