The Manitoba Junior Hockey League has announced its Stars of the Week, presented by Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries — and the Swan Valley Stampeders are front and centre.
Leading the way is 2008-born rookie forward Trace Langan. Langan continued his strong second half, scoring five goals and adding three assists in four games. He found the scoresheet in every contest, recorded three multi-point performances, and surpassed the 20-goal mark on the season. In a tight 3-2 loss to first-place Niverville, Langan scored both Stampeders goals, underscoring his growing role in the offence.
Teammate Dylan Ruff was also recognized after a nine-point week. Ruff registered four goals and five assists in four games, highlighted by a hat trick and two helpers in a 6-3 win over the Oil Capitals. He also scored a late third-period goal that nearly helped Swan Valley erase a deficit against Portage.
Rounding out the weekly honours is Niverville’s Marlen Edwards, who posted eight points in three games.
