YORKTON — One of two men charged with kidnapping with a firearm following an incident in Yorkton has appeared in court again.
On Jan. 20, Mounties say a man was in a parked vehicle on 4th Avenue North when two men wearing face coverings forced him out of the vehicle at gunpoint, placed him in a separate SUV and drove away.
Police spotted an SUV matching the description on Highway 10 heading towards Melville, but it wouldn’t pull over.
The vehicle then hit the ditch, and the suspects were arrested.
A search of the SUV turned up a loaded firearm, a firearm magazine, ammunition, about 88 grams of cocaine, about 88 grams of crystal meth and about 16 grams of fentanyl.
Twenty-four-year-old Preston Carroll, of Fort McMurray, Alta., was in Yorkton Provincial Court March 9, where he was remanded in custody to March 23.
