Finally watched Interior Chinatown and honestly, my only complaint is that I waited so long! This show is such a fun, quirky, meta ride from the start. A Law & Order-style universe set in Chinatown, where the characters are background actors who don’t even realize it. It’s got a bit of a Black Mirror feel, but with way more levity, heart and humour, making it super easy to binge.
The cast absolutely crushes it too! Jimmy O. Yang as Willis Wu brings every scene to life, switching from hilarious to heartfelt in a snap. Ronnie Chieng as Fatty Choi adds his usual sharp humour but also nails the serious moments, and Chloe Bennet’s Detective Lana Lee is the perfect mix of mysterious and relatable. Their chemistry is just so good, you can’t help but root for them.
Bonus points for the mini Crazy Rich Asians reunion with Jimmy O. Yang, Ronnie Chieng, and Chris Pang! Interior Chinatown is clever, thoughtful, and just plain awesome. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you seriously need to add it to your watchlist. I’ll be honest, I’m not sure if another season is coming or not, but they wrap things up well where it is. Trust me, it’s worth the watch!
