YORKTON — Hundseth Power Line Construction pleaded guilty in Yorkton Provincial Court March 25, to a charge stemming from a construction worker injury near Canora on April 16, 2023.
A worker was seriously injured while working on a power pole.
The court imposed a fine of $50,000, along with a victim fine surcharge of $20,000, for a total fine of $70,000. One charge was withdrawn, according to a provincial government news release.
The company was charged under The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 2020 for failing to provide information, instruction, training and supervision necessary to protect the health and safety of workers at work, resulting in a serious injury of a worker.
