Accused in June 2021 assault on Standing Buffalo F.N. back in court

A new court date has been set for a man on trial for an alleged assault on the Standing Buffalo First Nation.

In June of 2021, Fort Qu’Appelle RCMP responded to a report of an injured woman at a home on the reserve, and she was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

From April 24th through May 5th, 24-year-old Christopher Maple, of the Standing Buffalo First Nation, stood trial-by-judge on a charge of Attempted Murder.

Maple was back in Regina Court of King’s Bench Friday, and the matter has been set to continue on December 18th.
