A Swan River man is facing charges, after a vehicle was stolen and a Mountie assaulted in The Pas.

Late Wednesday night, RCMP received a report of a stolen truck in the town.

Thanks to a GPS unit inside the truck, police were able to track it down, and arrest the driver.

However, when the suspect was being placed in cells, he allegedly assaulted a Mountie.

24-year-old Allan Knight has been remanded in custody.
