Canada West settled for silver at the 2025 Junior A World Challenge after a 5–1 loss to the United States in Saturday’s gold medal game at the Colisée Vidéotron.
Noah Chadi scored Canada West’s lone goal early in the second period, with Humboldt Bronco forward Rylan Hue and Ethan Stewart picking up assists. Captain Esteban Cinq-Mars was named Canada West Player of the Game and earned a spot on the tournament all-star team.
Despite the loss, head coach Trevor Blevins said the team’s work ethic and structure were strong throughout the tournament.
““I thought we were right in the fight the whole game, and we cannot be prouder of our players because our work ethic and structure was there.”
In the bronze medal game earlier Saturday, Canada East fell 5–1 to Sweden to finish fourth. Mavrick Brunet scored for Canada East, while goaltender Kale Osipenko made 28 saves.
