The fields are now complete for Saskatchewan’s premier curling championships held early next month in Melville.
On the men’s side, six teams earned direct entry into the 2026 SaskTel Tankard through tour play and CTRS standings. Those pre-qualified rinks are Team Knapp of Regina’s Highland Curling Club, Team DeConinck Smith of Fox Valley, Team Laycock of Swift Current, Team Kalthoff and Team Kleiter of Saskatoon’s Nutana Curling Club, and Team Moser of Martensville.
The final three Tankard spots were decided at the Last Chance Event in Humboldt this past weekend, where Team Carss of Saskatoon, Team Tyler Hartung of Langenburg, and Team Josh Bryden of Regina punched their tickets. The Tankard winner will represent Saskatchewan at the 2026 Montana’s Brier in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador.
On the women’s side, six rinks also secured early berths in the 2026 Bunge Prairie Pinnacle. Pre-qualifiers include Team Miller and Team Campbell of Regina’s Highland Curling Club, Team Barker of Moose Jaw, Team Martin and Team Thevenot of Martensville, and Team Just of Esterhazy.
Rounding out the field through the last-chance qualifier in Weyburn over the weekend were Team Selzer of Balgonie, along with Regina-based Team Tisdale and Team Orsted. The Prairie Pinnacle champion will advance to the 2026 Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Mississauga.
Both the 2026 SaskTel Tankard and the Bunge Prairie Pinnacle run January 5th through 11th at the CN Community Centre in Melville.
