EBB AND FLOW FIRST NATION – Two men are facing drug trafficking charges following a late-night traffic stop on Ebb and Flow First Nation.
Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP say officers were on patrol Saturday, Dec. 13, when they initiated a traffic stop around 11:30 p.m. on Joe Houle Road.
Police say when officers approached the vehicle, the driver’s window would not roll down and the male driver was instructed to open the door. Officers then observed open alcohol inside the vehicle.
Both the driver and a male passenger were arrested at the scene.
A search of the vehicle later uncovered approximately 29 grams of cocaine, along with drug paraphernalia, packaging materials and a scale.
Two men, ages 38 and 48, both from Ebb and Flow First Nation, have been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
RCMP say both were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
