It’s almost Christmas, and don’t think I’ve forgotten about my annual tradition of supplying you with 10 more country Christmas albums you should be spinning on Christmas. (2023’s Christmas Album List 2024’s Christmas Album List). Whether you love classic legends or today’s hottest stars, these ones are perfect for creating holiday memories.
10. Alan Jackson – Let It Be Christmas: Obviously the title track for this one is a favourite, but it’s actually a great blend of traditional to more well known songs.
9. John Denver – Rocky Mountain Christmas: Very much a classic, straight out of 1975. With crowd-pleasers, as well as a couple originals written by Denver himself.
8. Kacey Musgraves – A Very Kacey Christmas: Playful, retro vibes and unique takes on favourite holiday songs. It’s a cheeky Christmas affair!
7. Taylor Swift – The Taylor Swift Holiday Collection: Okay, technically this is an EP, but for nostalgia sake I had to include this. A young Taylor Swift delivering cozy, feel-good renditions.
6. Little Big Town – The Christmas Record: This one came out last year. The harmonies are just so wonderful, it’s like it makes the lights on the Christmas tree shine brighter!
5. Jeffery Straker – A Very Prairie Christmas: A Saskatchewan talent who just released this album this year, and who also braved the terrible blizzard conditions to perform here in Yorkton last week. He earned his spot on this list!
4. Brad Paisley – Snow Globe Town: Another new one from this year. Half originals, half the classics, all Christmas. A couple of the songs from the album were even featured in Hallmark movies this year, as well as the song “Counting Down The Days” is the official anthem of this year’s Hallmark Countdown To Christmas!
3. Sara Evans – At Christmas: This is an underrated gem, honestly. Released over 10 years ago, but still hits all these years later. Soulful and heartfelt, Sara’s album is perfect for peaceful December nights.
2. Johnny Reid – Christmas: Johnny’s first Christmas album from all the way back in 2009. He’s the Scotsman to go to for some wonderful Christmas crooning!
1. Various Artists – Now That’s What I Call A Country Christmas: I found this one at the thrift store and it is absolutely PACKED with so much Christmas music. It is a double album, originally from 2009 and it’s basically a time capsule of country Christmas music of the time. Hit after hit, and oh so Christmassy!
So, plug in the tree, pour some hot cocoa, and let these albums play as you make new memories with your loved ones. Which one will be your holiday soundtrack this year?
