Even though Christmas is officially over, who says the holiday movie binge has to stop? If you’re looking for something fun, light, and full of festive energy, My Secret Santa, released just this December, is the movie for you.
Imagine Mrs. Doubtfire mixed with She’s The Man, that’s exactly what you get with My Secret Santa. The story follows Taylor, a determined single mom who’s willing to dress up as Santa just to make sure her daughter gets expensive snowboarding lessons at a fancy ski resort. Watching her balance the chaos of her double life is both hilarious and heartwarming.
Things really heat up though when the resort manager starts flirting with Taylor (as herself, not Santa), and she has to figure out how to keep her secret while dealing with all the awkward, sweet, and unpredictable moments that follow. It’s such a relatable and fun take on the lengths parents go for their kids, and all with some holiday silliness thrown in.
I will say the title My Secret Santa isn’t exactly fitting, but with so many new Christmas movies every year, who can blame them for running out of names? The important thing is that this movie packs way more originality and heart than you’d expect. And at just 90 minutes, it’s the perfect movie to enjoy with a mug of cocoa on a chilly night. So if you’re still clinging to that holiday spirit and want a movie that’s equal parts funny, sweet, and festive, give My Secret Santa a try. It just might surprise you!
