It’s been about a month since my parents visited me here in Yorkton, and they’re still talking about the Yorkton Terriers game we went to together. I had some flex-tickets, so on December 16th, we headed to the game at the Westland Arena, where the Terriers took on the Weyburn Red Wings. For my mom, it was her first hockey game since she was a kid, and my step-dad hadn’t been to an official hockey game in ages, so it was a special night for all of us.
We definitely picked a great game to attend! Yorkton came out on top with a 7-3 win, and things even got wild near the end with some fists flying on the ice. My mom tried to remind the players to “use their words,” but I don’t think anyone heard her over the excitement!
The fun didn’t stop with the game, though. The music during the intermissions kept the energy high and had everyone in a good mood. My parents had so much fun, and their only complaint was that the seats were a little cramped. Honestly, I don’t disagree.
They’re already hoping to catch another game the next time they’re back here in Yorkton. We got so caught up in the action that we forgot to take any pictures, so next time, snapping a family photo is at the top of the list!
